The opening mile of the boy's D1 race saw a pack of nearly a dozen, but it wouldn't stay that long for long.
The highlight of the race would go to Chaparral sophomore Tanner Brown, who had huge break-out performance.
Brown ran away from the field and nearly broke his Liberty Bell PR of 15:58, running 16:00.
The Rocky Mountain duo of Timothy Thompson and Tanner Halopoff finished 2-3, running 16:19, and 16:20.
Rocky Mountain's 1-2 punch of Thompson and Halopoff was flanked by Mac Eliason, who was their third runner inside the top-10. He finished eighth.
They went on to claim the team title with 52 points, while Mountain Vista finished second with 106, and Chaparral with 118.
